VOC regulation keeps pushing coatings toward water-borne systems
As emission limits tighten worldwide, water-borne additives become a central part of reformulation — and selection matters.
Emission regulations in Europe, North America and Asia continue to tighten limits on VOC content in paints and coatings. For many formulators, the practical response is to shift more of the portfolio toward water-borne and high-solids systems.
That shift changes more than the resin: dispersants, defoamers, leveling agents, wetting agents and rheology modifiers all behave differently in water. A well-chosen additive package is often the difference between a stable formulation and one that foams, craters or sags on the line.
BOYLE's Glück® water-borne portfolio covers the full additive set for this transition, and our technical team can help with product selection and formulation trials.
